Photography has been close to my heart for as long as I can remember. From documenting everyday life to family moments, pets, and birthday parties, I always had a camera in my hands. What started as a hobby- photographing friends and family -slowly grew into something much more. Over the years, I've had the joy of capturing everything from couples and families to seniors' kids, pets, and boudoir sessions.
Today, Simply Captured Photography is my way of turning real moments into lasting memories- I believe the best photos come from real moments, real connections, and real stories- the kind you'll look back on years from now and feel it all over again. In 2025-I photographed my first wedding, a true dream come true, and I'd be honored to tell your story next.
Hi, I'm Heather
Wife. Mama. Storyteller.
I married my best friend and biggest supporter, Zach, in 2016. We actually knew each other for years after both attending the Forest Lake School district, but in 2012 we really grew close when Zach returned from deployment and finished his military career. not long after, we started dating- and the rest is history.
A year later, we were blessed with our oldest son, Ryder, who is now 12 and full of energy. He loves basketball, being outside and playing video games. On our one- year anniversary, we received the best wedding gift of all and welcomed our second son, Zayden, who is 8. He shares that same love for outdoors, fishing, basketball and of course video games.
As a family, we love spending time outside- camaping, fishing, going on walks, and making memories together. In 2025, we also added a fur baby to our crew- Duke- who loves to play with other dogs, cuddle, and completely destroy his toys.

Weddings are full of once-in-a-lifetime moments, and I knew I didn't want to capture them alone. That's why I brought my best friend, Trisha on as my main second photographer. We've been best friends from grade school, and now we work side by side to make sure no moment is missed. She's not only my second shooter, but also my assistant and behind-the-scenes support- helping every wedding day run smoothly and beautifully.

Trisha is not only my second shooter- she's also my best friend and my right - hand on wedding days. We've been best friends for over two decades, which means working together feels completely natural and effortless. She's fun, outgoing, and the kind of person everyone instantly feels comfortable around. From helping keep the day running smoothly to capturing those - in- between moments, Trisha plays a huge role in making sure every wedding is relaxed, joyful and beautifully documented.
Trisha graduated from Forest Lake High school with me in 2006, and we've been inseparable ever since. She loves spending time with her family- Dave, her son Tristan, and her little sidekick Sydney (aka my "little bestie" When she's not behind the camera, you'll probably find her thrifting and hunting for treasures for her online shop. Her energy, heart, and attention to detail makes her an incredible part of the Simply Captured Team.
In the rare event Trisha is unavailable, I work with a small group of trusted backup shooters who share same style and care so you can feel confident your day will be beautifully covered no matter what.
